Foundations of Internal Alchemy: Axioms of the Dao
Don't take it for granted that the meanings of words like Dao and simplistic or have universal meanings that can be applied across all aspects of Chinese philosophy.
Actually different schools of thought use these terms differently and internal alchemy is no exception.
Although it is fair to say that the Dao of Laozi is the same Dao used in internal alchemy meditation there is so much more to it than that.
In this course you will learn the fundamental principles of Dan Dao (Alchemical Daoism) according to the essential axioms of study.
Neidan is not about building up a petty little amount of Qi by drawing in your breath and pulling up your genitals and anus, it is also not about having a warm lower Dantian or a tingling comfortable feeling. Dan Dao requires us to use the Dao to generate the same energy created at the time of our conception, before our creation, at the beginning of the universe and before.
This energy builds up in the pre-celestial state and spills over into the realm of perceptual awareness.
If you don't know that core view of Daoist cosmogony and metaphysics it you won't get far in Neidan.
In the Axioms of Internal Alchemy you will learn:
- the precise application of the Dao concept in meditation,
- how the multidimensional nature of nature and life extend to every aspect of our beings,
- the taxonomy of the three internal treasures and three external treasures, as well as how they are applied in post-heaven and pre-heaven aspects of practice,
- the precise meaning of concepts like Elixir, Alchemical Qi, Mystery Gate, Small Heavenly Orbit, and other key terms in internal alchemy,
- How to begin cultivating the Dao through genuine meditation,
- balancing the nature of the mystery gate and the cultivation of Qi in the meridians,
- The absolute essence of internal alchemy practice which hangs in the void of absolute non-being,
- and much more,
This is a great course for beginners who want to understand the application of Daoist ideas in meditation practice.
Without this knowledge ideas like the Dantian, Jing, Qi and Shen, and Embryonic Breathing are completely useless so this would be a great course for anyone wanting to get their foot in the door of Neidan practice.
